Disposable roll-down PU foam earplugs made from a bio-based polyurethane formulation. Independent lab testing (ASTM D6866-24 radiocarbon method) measured 27% biobased carbon content in the material. This is a biobased-content claim, not a biodegradability or compostability claim — no biodegradation standard (e.g. ASTM D6400/D6868) has been tested for this product. Standard cylindrical foam shape, same insertion method as conventional disposable foam earplugs.

Is 'bio-based' the same as 'biodegradable'?
No. The 27% biobased carbon figure comes from a radiocarbon (ASTM D6866-24) test, which measures how much of the material's carbon comes from renewable (plant-based) sources versus petroleum. It does not measure how fast, or whether, the product breaks down in a landfill or compost environment. We have not seen a separate biodegradability or compostability test (such as ASTM D6400 or D6868) for this earplug, so we do not represent it as biodegradable — only as biobased with a documented, third-party test result.
Can we get a copy of the underlying lab report?
Yes, the Certificate of Analysis from the University of Georgia Center for Applied Isotope Studies is available on request for buyer due diligence.
Does this replace your standard PU foam earplug line, or is it a separate SKU?
It is currently offered as a distinct bio-based variant alongside the standard PU foam earplug range, not a full replacement. Confirm current availability and packaging options at quote stage.

We have a verified biobased-carbon-content test for this material, but no independently reported NRR/SNR figure specific to this bio-based batch yet.
